Summer Is Coming!

July 19th, 2016

Summer. Days become longer, nights shorter. Especially when temperatures remain high at night it can be hard to get enough sleep. This exhausts people. For those suffering from heart disease it poses an additional burden. Often they are confronted with increased fatigue or in some cases muscular cramps and heart rhythm disturbances.

The loss of water in the body strains the circular flow and has a negative impact on your blood pressure.

Here are some tips to relieve your circular flow from the burdens of hot weather:

Drink abundantly!

Fuel your body with abundant amounts of liquid in order to compensate for transpired water. Should you be unsure about the proper water intake, simply weigh yourself in the mornings and evenings. If your weight hasn’t changed during the day the amount is correct.

Not too cold!

Drinks shouldn't be too cold, as low temperatures stimulate the body to increase its temperature. Bizarre, but effective: have a hot cup of tea or warm water.

Cooler Places!

Instead of sunbathing, you should seek cooler places like forests. If you like doing your exercises outdoors have a jog in the forest or resort to cycling, which gives you a cooling breeze.

Light meals!

Olive oil, fish and vegetables. The Mediterranean cuisine is ideal for hot summer days. Light meals can be taken in throughout the day and don’t burden your body unnecessarily.
